Amazing tutorial, start to finish brings it all together. For me a pdf to purchase with clothing ideas would finish the package. I cannot dress anyone, I have no vision. If you could provide a vision, that would be the learning block for then expanding on your ideas. Thanks for perhaps considering, for me would be huge. Look forward to next tut. Kate

Hi Kate, glad you enjoyed the tutorial! I actually have that idea on my list of “product ideas”, I know many people struggle with that, myself included sometimes! Hopefully one day I can get to create it 🙂

Loved this tutorial Lisa! I don’t have procreate but I sketched on paper, then took into PS to trace and add the color. I got so much out of this – especially the shadow tips. Thank you!!

I love this! I’m brand new to Procreate but I’m very happy as to how my little mouse is turning out. However, my Dashes brush is much larger! How do I resize it to make small strokes like yours? I just bought it so I haven’t edited it or anything. Thanks!

Yay! So glad you’re happy with your little mouse! You can change the size of the pattern grain on any of the pattern brushes to adjust it to your project needs. Here’s a tutorial on how to do that (it’s super easy): How to change the scale of a pattern brush

It is wonderful. Great way too to get to know how to use the different brushes in the artist brush pack.
    I am very happy.

Would also like to see a tutorial for the drawing kit with people (I now think I should have bought the character set and not the people set , my mistake lol)
    Thanks!

Hi Lisa! Thank you for sharing this one! I purchased the CDT… but I can’t find the organic head. Were there any updates to the latest product?

      Hi Marybelle,

Thank you so much for your purchase! I’d be happy to assist you with that The head shape I used in the tutorial comes from the CDT Shapes brushes (so not found in the Heads) and the brush is called Organic 1. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Hi Lisa,
I love working the mouse tutorial in Procreate but when you get into shading I can’t find multiply and color burn in the layers menu nor in any of the editing tools. I also don’t have any access to an opacity function. How can these tools be added to Procreate? Thanks for all the sharing you do in your tutorials.

      Hi Pat,

That sounds really odd! Your Procreate should have all those features, it’s standard with the app. Are you tapping on the the little “N” to the right side of the layer? That will bring up all the functions. If you’re still not seeing that, it might be worth uninstalling, then re-installing the app. IMPORTANT! Do a full backup of all your work first before you delete the app!

If you’re still not having any luck, or would prefer not to delete the app, I would recommend getting in touch with the Procreate support to get further assistance with that. Hope that helps!

Hi Jasmin, So glad you like the tutorial! I wish I could share the palette (I’m kicking myself that I didn’t think of that at the time when I uploaded the tutorial!), but unfortunately it was a few years ago when I recorded this and sadly didn’t keep the palette. You could try and do a screen grab then use the dropper to pick the colours. So sorry I couldn’t assist with that!

I absolutely LOVED watching that :). I wanted to ask though … do you have an idea of what you want the image to look like before you start, or does it evolve organically. It was great seeing how you used the brushes as that always has me stumped. I was sitting here grinning listening to your accent, I’ve been in Aus for 16 years now and hearing it was like a warm blanket in Winter. xx

So glad you enjoyed that! I usually have quite a clear idea of the characters personality before I begin, but not always how they will look. So often the personality drives how the character will turn out, if that makes sense!
