How to draw cute woodland animals – an easy drawing tutorial

Many beginners, even seasoned artists, feel intimidated when it comes to drawing cute woodland animals.

In this easy drawing tutorial you’ll learn how simple and fun it can be to create adorable animal characters even if you’re a beginner!

You’ll learn how to use one of the multi-shape brushes included in the Cute Art Creator for Procreate. The shape is fantastic for creating a variety of different animal portraits.

We’ll have fun embellishing our animal portrait with some of the many decorative brushes included in the collection.

Don’t forget to install the free Procreate colour swatches that come with the set.

If you haven’t watched the Introduction Tutorial for The Cute Art Creator, I recommend doing that first so you can get the most out of the brushes.

Let’s draw!

Yay!!! SUPER happy you’re enjoying the set Tonia! I love using it too, it’s so much fun to use. And like you, I use the patterns and borders all the time even when I’m painting or doing more “serious” art. Thank you for the lovely comment, hope you keep enjoying the brushes!

Thank you Lisa for creating this helpful site.

And for being so honest about the creative process, pitfalls and the up side of being your own boss.

So I am from an Art/Design background and been a freelance designer for exhibition commercial design, but started from own Artwork and it grew to work on more commercial Art.

Now getting back to own work and producing lots of digital landscapes, inspired by sketches for next stage oil paintings. But now thinking that the digital work could sell within its own right, as most work is a complete composition.

Any advice on more serious Art Sites for digital landscapes?
Apart from the known big sites out there?
Website at the moment is my gardening design one.

Hi Jonathan, So glad you find it helpful! Your artwork sounds amazing! You have good instincts regarding being able to repurpose your digital files, I think it’s a great idea! I don’t unfortunately know of any fine art websites other than selling your work on sites like Society 6 or Redbubble. It’s not my area of expertise I’m afraid. You might need to do a deep dive web search, however if it’s that difficult to find I can’t imagine them having much traffic then. Perhaps it might be more beneficial to partner with a company in your area that sells printed wall art that gives you a percentage of each sale, often the smaller local companies like partnering with local artists. Don’t know if that helps at all!
