In this watercolour painting tutorial for Procreate, we’ll be painting a beautiful Olive Thrush using my AquaReal 2 brush set.
It’s one of the many Design Cuts Live Sessions I did which I’m excited to finally be able to share with you!
Throughout the session, I cover a variety of helpful watercolour techniques. You’ll learn how to:
- Blend complementary colours to capture the soft tones of the bird’s body
- Use the Shadow Brush to build depth
- Play with Blending Brushes to create those lovely watermarks.
We’ll also explore the Granulation Brush for delicious texture, plus some quick and easy ways to add variation to your background wash using the versatile AquaReal stamps.
To make it super easy to follow along, you can download the free resources included with this session from the Treasure Trove subscriber area. If you haven’t joined yet, signing up is completely free! You’ll find the sketch and the custom watercolour colour palette for Procreate on the Design Cuts Live Sessions page.
