What to consider when selling digital products

If your main product offering is digital in nature, you need to consider how your files will be delivered to your customers. Obviously you want this process to be automatic.

Some platforms include an upload quota for each product allowing your customers to download directly from their servers, but it comes at a cost. With other platforms you might need to store your products on a separate cloud service which connects to your store.

You also need to consider the security of your download links, will someone be able to access the product without purchasing it?

Which ever option you choose, I would recommend going with a service that comes with good reviews for stability and security.

If you prefer to have your products delivered from the same platform as your shop, make sure this is a feature they offer. It’s very important to know whether there is a file size limit, you don’t want your files larger than your allocated quota forcing you to use a cloud service anyway.
