Hi Lisa, I was wondering if this kit can be used to just draw with simple paper and pencil or if it is exclusively digital drawing? Thank you!

    • Avatar

      Hi Brianna,

The kit can be used with pencil and paper as it includes pdf printouts of all the shapes with labels etc. But I would recommend rather using a free online app like Photopea.com to import the PNG shapes that are included into layers – one shape per layer, so you can resize and position the shapes first to build your character. You can then either print that out to use with pencil and paper, or even pop you paper over the computer screen to trace, kind of like a lightbox.

Using the prints as they are might be too frustrating as you can’t resize them once printed. Using some kind of digital app like Photopea would be make for a better experience. If you are keen to go the Photopea route, you can use my examples here as a starting point and import the shapes to build your framework so you can get use to using the shapes

does it also include sets for baby characters?

    • Avatar

      Lisa Glanz (verified owner)

      Hi May,

It does include a baby head shape and baby body, but it doesn’t include an extensive selection for baby characters. The set is designed to help draw a broader variety of people Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Hi again if my budget was to only buy one of the two template kit which one do you recommend.

    • Avatar

      Lisa Glanz (verified owner)

Hi Moo, I’m currently working on a new drawing kit that’s designed to help even the most inexperienced creator. So if you’re very new to drawing maybe you want to hold off until I’m done with that set, it should be ready in about 3 weeks. If you sign up to my mailing list you’ll be notified when it’s ready. If you don’t want to wait, I would recommend getting the People edition of the character drawing toolkits, it has shapes specifically geared towards drawing people which I know most people struggle with.

Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Hi Lisa, I’m super scared that I’m going to buy this and I’m gonna try to use it and I’m just gonna completely suck. I have already tried a drawing course on udemy and it taught me nothing:(. This looks really promising but I’m scared to buy it

    Hi Lisa,
I’m VERY interested in your Procreate brushes and am planning to purchase a few of them.
Quick question for you about your Procreate People Character Drawing Toolkit, if I may. Can marks from the brushes be selected and edited in Procreate? For example, let’s say I wanted to elongate one of the character’s heads to make it slimmer and more comical – would that be possible?
Thanks in advance for your help, and keep up the great work! 🙂

    • Avatar

      Lisa Glanz (verified owner)

Hi Pietro, yes definitely! You can use the transform tool in Procreate to elongate or adjust the shape. I also use the liquify tool to adjust areas of the shape like making a front facing torso into a 3/4 view for example. The shapes can be flipped, rotated and adjusted using the transform tools in Procreate. Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

I could literally cry having found the resources that you’ve developed, Lisa. I would hug you so hard if I saw you :). I have never been able to draw, but I’ve wanted to make these amazing scenes and bring ideas for life and have tried so hard for the past decade. Suddenly, I CAN bring the scenes to life. They’re not great, yet… But, they will be. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!

As promised, bought my first set asap. Honestly spent days fretting over choosing correctly between generic or human character set for lack of preset ears, eyes and so on. Unlike simple ink or pencil brushes you provide a powerful, unique tool for budding and veteran illustrators alike; character design building blocks. Two questions please? What is your brush (pencil/ink) % setting to get the scratchy look? What palette combo do you recommend for your go-to brown illustrations? I’m colour blind. Love your tool and teaching quality and value!

    • Avatar

      Lisa Glanz (verified owner)

Hi Graham, Thank you so much for your purchase, it’s much appreciated! So glad you are enjoying the shapes as they challenge your imagination. I hope you’re enjoying the worksheets included for features like the eyes, noses etc. The brush I used for the sketch work is called Lisa’s pencil which is part of this pack. In terms of choosing a brown, I usually use a orange/brown combined with cream. There are some really lovely brown palettes on Pinterest you could import into Procreate and create a colour palette from. I found one here that I think will be helpful to you.

Hi, This is a question, not a comment, sorry if I’m in the wrong place. Can we use these with Adobe Illustrator Draw as well or only Adobe Illustrator?
    Thanks very much.

    • Avatar

      Lisa Glanz (verified owner)

      Hi Paula,
Unfortunately it won’t work with Adobe Draw so sorry about that! You would need the desktop Adobe Illustrator to open the vector files. Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Hi, Lisa,
I just bought the toolkit on a creative marketplace. That’s incredible! When I fell in love with the set a few months ago, there were “just” procreate brushes… It was only after I bought it that I saw what is now included. I am absolutely overwhelmed and I am really looking forward to spending the day with all your tools! Thank you so much!
