Previously I wrote an article on why you need your own website to sell your art or digital products online, which explains the need for independence.
As important as that is, taking on such a project is incredibly overwhelming.
In this free mini course, you’ll learn tips on how to tackle building your online art shop and what to consider when choosing a website platform. I’ll share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years which I’m hoping will assist you in making important decisions upfront which will set you up for success!
COURSE PROJECT
The course outlines important considerations for creating an online shop. Once you’ve worked your way through the lessons, I encourage you to spend time working out the Phases of your website project (see Take the next steps lesson). It’s helpful to add implementation dates to each Phase to keep you on track.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge! How many pieces of art for sale do you think is the minimum you’d recommend before choosing to open shop? I don’t have many yet and don’t want to be premature.
Hi Liora, I think if you have three pieces you can open your shop! And if you are creating one a month (which you might create more), then by the end of the year you’ll have 12 pieces. It will probably take some time to gain traction when first starting out, BUT the sooner you can launch your own website, the sooner that step is behind you. All these steps we take add up to shape our business, so don’t delay in moving forward, it only servers to delay the growth of your business. ❤️

Oh wow Lisa, you have no idea how much I need this mini course. For the past 3 years I have created so many digital products and have been trying so many different sites and platforms orly to become just…. STUCK and needles to say, nothing is complete and nothing sold lol.

Oh I feel you!! The combination of anxious/frantic energy mixed with overwhelm and a dash of excitement from creating, can actually cause stasis! Thanks so much Lisa! I had emailed you awhile back to see what platform you used to create your website and you said WordPress using the Divi plugin and that you created it yourself. That gave me the courage to try designing and building it, instead of hiring someone else (I’m a graphic designer as well as an illustrator so I like having that control). I am in the initial stages of using both WordPress and Divi! I keep hitting bumps and having distractions, but I will get it done. I appreciate you sharing your words of wisdom on this topic
