I have purchased a few of your sets and love them all ❤️❤️ but I’m not familiar with adding your paper backgrounds. My question is my paper size is 12×24 how can I change the size of your paper templates? Is that even possible?
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Hi Jennifer, so glad you’re enjoying the brushes! The best would be to rather add your final artwork to the pre-made Canvases included and not the other way around, ie. don’t add the Canvas textures to your completed artwork but rather work in the pre-made canvas or import artwork into the pre-made canvas. If you’d like to enlarge the Canvases, I would recommend not increasing them more than 140% which should be close to the size you need. If you do enlarge them, definitely do all your size adjustments BEFORE you start painting or adding artwork to the canvas. To increase the size, you can use the Crop and Resize in Procreate, then make sure you have Resample canvas ON before you enter your new measurements. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Hi Lisa!
I just wanted to thank you for these fabulous brushes and tutorials. I have bought other watercolour brush packs in the past, but none compare to yours for realism and detail. And your tutorials are *so* helpful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
I wonder if you have any other watercolour tutorials for purchase?
Warmly,
Sarah
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
It’s such a pleasure Sarah! I’m so happy to read you’re enjoying the brushes and find the tutorials helpful. Thank you for your kind words!!!❤️ I don’t have any watercolour tutorials to purchase but there are several for the AquaReal brushes and many more to come soon. You can find all the AquaReal tutorials here. Hope that helps!
Mehedi –
Hi, Can you please make this brushes for photoshop? I want to purchase and use it on photoshop. Please reply
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Hi Mehedi,
I wish I could transform the brushes to other apps but unfortunately the brush engine in Procreate is very different and has nuanced settings and features that other apps don’t have. These features add to the authentic look of the brushes (which takes days and sometimes weeks of tweaking and testing to achieve). So far I haven’t unfortunately been successful in converting the brushes to other apps where I’m happy to sell, I have high standards and don’t want to sell sub-standard versions of my brushes. So sorry I couldn’t give you a more positive answer! Maybe in the near future all these apps will be more compatible with each other and allow the import of other software brush files.

Hi Lisa, I have read this comment and I am not sure if I understood. Did you mean that with a transparent png you are able to make patterns in Illustrator without tracing and vectorizing it ? You just need to embed the raster images ?
I have watched other tutorial where you trace and vectorise your art individually in order to convert it in an ai file.
Thank you, your tutorials are brilliant.
Hi Jean, I prefer making my patterns in Adobe Illustrator too. I find the best way to do is to use the original raster image in the pattern and not try and trace the artwork to convert it to vector – unless you are specifically using a very limited palette and don’t mind a more flat look to your watercolour paintings. To do that, I export all my watercolours as individual elements as high-res PNG files. Then when I import into Adobe Illustrator, I embed all the elements and use them as needed in the design of the repeat tile. If you embed the images you can then drag the final tile into the swatches panel to test the pattern. If you don’t embed, Adobe Illustrator doesn’t allow you to drag it into the swatches panel. Here’s a tutorial if you need help removing the paper background but still retain the watercolour texture in Procreate. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Hi Be! Yes that’s correct. I import the transparent watercolour raster artwork into Adobe Illustrator to create watercolour patterns. I don’t vectorise them, but keep them as raster files. It’s important to “embed” the images to test your pattern in the colour swatch panel. If you use this method just keep in mind that your pattern design is still raster based which means you can’t scale it up infinitely. This method is just using the power and tools of Adobe Illustrator to create the pattern, but it’s still a raster file and not vector (unless you trace it of course.) Hope that helps!

Oh my, how I wish this and your other items were available for Affinity Photo and Designer!
Jean –
Hi Lisa,
Love, love. love your tutorials! Amazing realistic brushes! I’m wondering if I can export the finish files from Procreate to Illustrator and making patterns out of these elements? I’m a watercolor artist and only know how to use Illustrator. I’ve been struggling a lot with incorporating my art into Illustrator to retain watercolor texture. Do you have any tutorial on how you would bring Procreate files to work in Illustrator? Thanks you so much ~ Jean

Hej Lisa! I am so beyond thankful for this beautiful set. It was worth every penny! I have tried and purchased several other watercolor brush sets but none of them were as beautiful as this set. This brings my artwork to another level! I purchased two other sets as well and I can’t wait to play around with them as well
You are one of the greatest artists for me and a huge inspiration. Thank you and tons of greetings from Sweden!
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Wow thank you so much! That’s the best compliment! I’m so delighted you love the brushes. Thank you so much for being a customer I hope you enjoy all the new goodies. Happy creating!

Hi Lisa, I am using this brush and I like this!!! However I am not a trained artist like you so it is a bit hard to draw well. Would you mind upload some video that shows how to draw with this brush? I know you have some in your youtube channel but I don’t think it is enough for me. It would be super nice if you show your subscribers how to draw grandpa, bird and bear that I can see in this page. Thanks 🙂
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Thank you for your comment! I do have several tutorials where I’ve used the AquaReal brushes that you might find helpful. I’ll list them below:
This is the intro tutorial, not sure if you have already seen it.
In this one I used another toolkit of mine to build the animal first, then AquaReal to apply colour, you can skip the building of the animal part if you like, I start painting at about 20 mins
The same with this one, you can skip the building of a character part if you only want to watch the painting part.
Here’s one for painting a butterfly.
Paint a cute dog.
And this one will show you how to remove the paper background for a transparent image, but still retain the original texture of the canvas in your work.
Hope that helps!

Thank you so much Lisa! I just love this set, it’s perfect!❣

It’s a great pleasure! Thank you so much for your lovely review Irina. Happy painting!
Dora Hietavirta –
Lisa,
I am using your Animal Drawing Kit with Affinity. Any chance I could use this brush set there?
Thank you
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Hi Dora, Unfortunately the brushes are only compatible with Procreate. I wish I could convert them for Affinity but unfortunately the brush engine in Procreate is quite different and a lot more intricate with the settings than Affinity so I can’t get the same results I’m afraid. Sorry that I couldn’t give you a better answer at the moment. If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Cindy cookie –
Hi Lisa can I ask a questions?which fonts have you used to present these brushes (in the images)? Thank you.
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Hi Cindy! I used Montserrat and Heritage Hope that helps!
Rei –
I just got a set by Media Jamshidi and it didn’t have any instructions about how to use. So I looked for in youtube, and I found your channel and your tutorial of YOUR brushes… And I think yours and hers brushes and the textures are so similar, I even feel weird about it to be honest. You should check … and it was sooo expensive in comparision…over $60 usd… I’d love that I could have found yours first. I wanna cry.
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Hey Stephany,
Awww! So sorry! I know how frustrating it is buying something then regretting it. I hope my tutorials can still assist you though. Thank you for the heads-up, I’ll be sure to check the brushes out.
Anashuya –
Hi Lisa, I just love this set for I believe it can get a lot of work done without a the clutter of too many brushes. But I don’t own an iPad and can’t spring for one anytime soon (so no access to Procreate!). So could you please please pretty please make a version of this one (and also the texture and instant artist sets, if possible) that is compatible with Photoshop or similar softwares. Love, Anashuya
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Hi Anashuya,
I wish I could convert them to Adobe Photoshop and other apps but unfortunately I can’t get the same results in those apps. The Procreate brush library is very different and more sophisticated (in my opinion) than Adobe Photoshop and other apps and I can’t recreate the brushes to the same level of quality that I would be proud to sell. Sorry about that!
Emily M (verified owner) –
I am loving this brush set! My analog watercolor skills are frustratingly amateurish, but these brushes are just a joy to use. I can actually create what I imagine in my head.
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –

Célia Menezes –
Hi Lisa I’m your fan! I wonder if these brushes I can use in illustrator or photoshop! I love your job. I would like to be sure before buying! I’m brazilian using google translator
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Hi Célia, Thank you so much for your lovely comments! These brushes aren’t unfortunately compatible with Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. They are only compatible with Procreate I’m afraid. Let me know if you have any other questions

I am into day 2 of adding more of your gifted product of hard work. I sadly purchased ‘Procreate’ alternatives because it falls flat in reproducing real watercolour-looking results. This is another Yay! Thank you for allowing joyful focus on creativity!

Fantastic Graham!! Super happy that you’re enjoying the brushes so far. Hope you continue to have fun with your painting sessions in Procreate

A good art friend of mine recommended me to get these brushes and introduced me to Lisa and her work last week, and I must say, they are by far THE BEST watercolor brushes I have purchased! I own about 5 different sets too, and the ease of use and variability makes these so diverse in what you can do. Easy to use and the tutorial is very helpful to give you ideas on how you can achieve different looks for your work. Very happy, and thank you Lisa!
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –

Lisa, your AquaReal-Set is amazing!!! I was looking for so long to have a possibilty to do my watercolor illustrations in a digital way… but there were no brushes, that made me really happy. After reading your announcement on Instagram, I was sure, I NEED THESE BRUSHES!!! This morning, I bought and installed them and only after some minutes using them, I can tell you: YOU MADE MY DAY!!! I LOOOOOVE THEM!!! Thank you!!!
Christina –
This set is FANTABULOUS! I love watercolours but never managed to do something decent with them. Until now. The brushes are fantastic, the colour palettes are divine and the canvases are perfect! Thank you Lisa! It’s another fantastic product!

Only by looking at the exaple images and the introductory tutorial I. AM. THRILLED! These brushes look so much like real real watercolor. I can´t imagine how much time you spend on perfecting the look and feel of this brushset. I am going to buy them right now because i just have to.
Thanks Lisa for your dedication. I really appreciate what you have done here (and with your other brushsets, textures… of course, too).
Lisa Glanz (verified owner) –
Wow! Thank you so much Miriam! I truly a appreciate your thoughtful comments. I’m so thrilled you think the brushes look real (you’re right, I probably spent waaaay too much time on these! But it was sooo worth it ) Thank you so much for all your support xx
